Standing with Our Immigrant Families, Friends, and Neighbors

The Rosenberg Foundation stands with immigrant workers, families, and communities in condemning the recent ICE raids and militarized tactics designed to instill fear and silence peaceful protest in Los Angeles. Federal agents in military gear and armored vehicles swept through neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and job sites — terrorizing hardworking people who are simply trying to provide for their families and build better lives.

Immigrants are our neighbors, coworkers, and family members. These raids tore parents, caregivers, and workers from their communities while they were doing the most ordinary things — dropping children off at school, attending graduation ceremonies, or earning a living. Children were left crying for their moms and dads. Families were left without income, support, or answers. One  father, who has been working at a clothing warehouse since arriving from Mexico three years ago, has a three-month-old baby. Now his family has no idea where he is. Parents, grandparents and siblings have been swept up.

This  is not about public safety — it is state-sanctioned violence and intimidation. Yet in the face of this injustice, California communities are responding with courage and solidarity. Everyday people — teachers, neighbors, faith leaders, small business owners — are coming together to protect one another and defend the values of humanity and dignity. We stand with them, and we uplift CHIRLA and our community partners who are standing on the frontlines defending families, protecting workers, and affirming the right of every person to live free from fear and terror.

It’s been said, our work is not about politics — it is about people. Our commitment to racial and economic justice is unwavering and extends to all people, without exception. We will not be silent. We will not back down. To the families and communities impacted: we see you and we stand with you.
